The Opah fish is a large oval-shaped fish, also known as a sunfish or moonfish.  They're found in many areas of the world from the Pacific to the cooler waters of the North Atlantic.

This illustration is by Edward Donovan, an Anglo-Irish writer and natural history illustrator.  This stunning Opah fish is one of the many illustrations he created for, The Natural History of British Fish, published in 1802.
