MIKADO CALIFORNIA POPPY. Big bright orange/yellow native wildflower. Easily grown from seed. Will grow well in cold climates, but only as an annual. In warmer areas they can be grown as a perennial. Foliage is lacy with a bluish-green color. Flowers close at night or in cold, windy weather and then reopen. Poppies require full sun and good drainage. Well suited for rock gardens or dry, sandy soil. Because of their deep taproot they do not transplant well. Plant seed directly in the garden where you want them to grow. Deadhead spent blooms to prolong flowering. If you want Mikado to reseed, just leave alone a few plants to live out their natural life cycle and drop seed. These will sprout next spring. 500+seeds per order. Thank You!
