Piper Aircraft 51944-000 Tube Assembly

This item was purchased from an aviation surplus sale. I do not know the history of it. It is in good cosmetic condition. It is tagged, "AR, PA-31T". It measures about 16 3/8" long by 3/8" OD. The threads are 1/4"-28. I am not able to test it. It only comes with what is shown in the pictures.
