Comes with its original box, instructions and retail source info. Some scuffs on the box but paper work is not torn or damaged.
Viewmaster is 50+ years old but no visible wear and tear. Works as original out of the box.
View-Master is the trademark name of a line of special-format stereoscopes and corresponding View-Master "reels", which are thin cardboard disks containing seven Stereoscopic 3-D pairs of small transparent color photographs on film. It was originally manufactured and sold by Sawyer's Inc. The View-Master system was introduced in 1939, four years after the advent of Kodachrome color film made the use of small, high-quality photographic color images practical.
The Model C viewer offered here is fully functioning viewers, without advancing problems. This one is in fine condition and is a later manufactured model C as the patent information does not have a border or a seam above. Probably manufactured in 1951 as was bought as a family Christmas gift in 1952.
CAUTION: After more than 70 years of existence, many Model C viewers no longer advance the reel from image to image smoothly. Little can be done to correct this. This one is in it’s original box, has original instructions as wwll as a complete advertising list of all the possible viewing reels that could be bought at that time. Comes with five reels a couple came with the viewmaster and others were purchased afterward. Reel copyright date in brackets after the name.
