A mysterious threat is terrorizing the once quiet town of Hawkins, Indiana. The secretive Hawkins National Laboratory seems to be the epicenter of all the strange occurrences in the town; missing people, sightings of an otherworldly monster, and even reports of a girl with psionic abilities. Within its foreboding walls exists a gate to another dimension, sometimes referred to as the "upside down". The filming location of the lab was at Briarcliff Building A, in Atlanta, Georgia.

This microscale version of the Hawkins National Laboratory was designed to mimic the style of the Architecture theme. It features the main lab building, some nice fall foliage, the infamous drainage pipe seen in season 1, and a microscale gate to the upside down hidden inside. The base measures 26 x 26 studs (or about 8.2 x 8.2 inches) in length and width and the model is about 11 bricks tall (or about 4.2 inches) at the highest point.
