Biigraphy of Samuel Machuca 

He was born in San Cristobal. He began his artistic training at the Pablo Claudio Musical School in his hometown in the years 1991-1993. In 1992 he participated in the Third Children's Painting Contest, The Colonial City Seen by Children, at the Nidia Serra Art Center, receiving one of the 7 prizes awarded at the National level. Later he studies at the National School of Fine Arts of Santo Domingo from 1993-1997, participating in its annual exhibitions. As an outstanding student at the National School of Fine Arts she received six awards in Drawing, Painting and Sculpture. In 1994 he founded with Jose Pelletier, Wilson Chapman, Fermín Ceballos, Israel Caraballo and Daniel Torres, the Expression 94 group, participating in two of the three exhibitions held in the years 1995-1997. She is selected a set of her works by the Loyola Polytechnic Institute of San Cristobal to start the Collection of said institution. Creates the Fundacion Cultura de Arte Espacio, to promote the development and training of young art in the Dominican Republic. INDIVIDUAL EXHIBITIONS 1999 - PORTRAITS, I Individual Exhibition, C'Puello Gallery, Caribbean Art, Santo Domingo. 2006 - INTIMO-Recent Works, Dominican College of Plastic Artists, Santo Domingo, DR COLLECTIVE EXHIBITIONS 1995 - II Marginal Biennial, Colonial Zone, Santo Domingo, DR 2001- ART IS ONE, Santo Domingo Country Club, Lights and Shadows Foundation, Santo Domingo, RD 2005- INCOMUNIS, Dominican Republic Library, Santo Domingo, RD 2006- I Biennial, Nickel Palette, Candido Bido Museum, Bonao. RD 2009 - Prize for Painting, Exhibition-Theatre House, Santo Domingo, RD 2010- Circumstances, House of Culture, San Cristobal. RD 2011- DEI GRATIA, House of Culture, San Cristobal. DR
