This Sale is for One (1) Vintage ~ Sipping Cup ----- Medical Drinking/Nursing Cup

Measures approximately 2 7/8" wide (including handle) x 5.75" deep (including spout) x 5.5" tall

One side it is written Karlovy = Vary

Bottom is marked J S K & the # 58 inside of a circle

Off-white in color with a gold design throughout

Ceramic/porcelain material

Called a sipping cup as Karlovy Vary is known for its hot mineral springs and these cups were used for drinking it

Also called a Medical Feeding Cup/Invalid Feeder

Invalid feeders were used from the 17th century into the early 1900's

They were used to feed invalids in hospitals ~ nursing homes ~ wounded soldiers and infants

Soft or liquid food was placed inside ~ and then it was administered to the patient

Uniquely shaped with a spout and handle

Used for invalids &/or infants in hospital

Item is in good ~ vintage ~ pre-owned condition

     **there is a fleck of brown on 1 side & an indentation on opposite side that appear to be manufactured that way (last photos)
