Here is a darling set for your consideration---Playmobil's #5923 School. This set, I believe, was produced between 2010-2012 and was designed for 4 year olds and up. Although there are some "add-on" sets still available through Playmobil, this particular school has been retired since 2013.

The two story school building displays numerous school activities ranging from conducting science experiments to painting pictures. Discrete areas include a classroom, a science room, an art studio, and a music area. The base itself may be expanded to three stories by purchasing an "add-on" extension floor. "Add-on" accessory sets, likewise available through www.playmobil.com, offer other extended play scenarios. Specific "add-on" sets consist of a school cafeteria, additional musical instruments for a music room, a workshop, a crossing guard with kids, and a gymnasium. All of the figures are proportioned according to their real- life counterparts and surroundings. The students may wield a paintbrush in art, look through a magnifying glass or microscope in science, or draw on a real chalkboard with a stick of chalk. Assorted accessories mirror those that might be found in a typical elementary school building. This set is approximately 99% Complete with more than 232 pieces being present. There are no cracked, broken, or repaired pieces.  Missing items include:

1 redhead boy with a blue sweater over a T-shirt;

1 computer w/keyboard and screen;

4 writing tools (e.g. pencil, crayon, markers, paintbrush etc.);

1 white sponge eraser;

2 clear, hollow test tubes;

1 set of green books;

1 set of white books;

1 short, black rubber hose for fire extinguisher;

portions of a plant; and

1 poster and box.

To compensate for some of these missing items, I have inserted several extra children. The aforementioned missing parts may still be obtained via www.playmobil.com for a modest fee.

All of Playmobil's play sets revolve around established "themes" familiar to young children (e.g. Medieval Castles and Knights, Pirates, Western Forts, Native Americans, Trains, Stage Coaches, Gold Mines, Circuses, Zoos, Victorian Mansions, Fairy Tale Castles, Sherwood Forest, Construction, Doctors and Dentists' Offices, Hospitals, Airports, Schools, Modern Homes etc.). Due to the level of detail, children's imaginations are afforded endless open-ended play opportunities. Not only do these toys broaden a child's imagination, creativity, attention, and use of elaborate oral narratives, they also facilitate a child's cooperative and dramatic play skills and fine motor capabilities. These toys conform to the highest production standards of quality and safety in accordance with European and American safety guidelines. The toys, while primarily manufactured in Germany, also are produced in Malta and Spain. They are distributed in more than 70 countries throughout world. 

I can vouch for the high quality and play value these toys afford. My own children played with a variety of these sets up until age 13! Talk about getting "your bang for the buck." Several of them were employed in school diorama projects. What a lifesaver! I also used them with my preschool and school aged clients for speech-language therapy. They'd be great for families that are home-schooling their children.

Due to the small, intricate parts, Playmobil recommends that these toys be reserved for children 4 years of age and up. Adult supervision is highly recommended for children under 3-4 years of age. 

While this offering does not come with its original box, it does come with its original set of instructions.

I primarily utilize Fed Ex Home Delivery for items exceeding 5 lbs. in weight, measuring greater than 12 inches in any dimension, or traveling longer distances. I’ve been finding Fed Ex has been running @33% cheaper than the USPS (including Parcel Post) and UPS Ground. FYI, another benefit of using either Fed Ex or UPS is that their quote includes up to $100 worth of FREE insurance. Additional amounts of insurance may be purchased for a nominal fee (that is much less than the USPS). Fed Ex also provides automated tracking updates re: your parcel’s whereabouts directly to your personal e-mail account.

In order to ship Fed Ex (or UPS for that matter), I MUST have a residential or work place address, NOT a P.O. Box number, as well as a home or cell phone. Otherwise, they will not accept the shipping paperwork or transport your item.

Since Bonanza's shipping calculator does NOT offer Fed Ex Home Delivery as a shipping option, PLEASE DO NOT SEND PAYMENT UNTIL I HAVE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO MANUALLY CHECK THESE RATES AND INSERT THEM INTO YOUR INVOICE. Otherwise, the shipping calculator may overcharge you.

Packages traveling to Alaska or Hawaii will be shipped Parcel Post via the USPS. Insurance and delivery confirmation are required.

I’m more than willing to combine multiple purchases into one box whenever it is safe to do so to decrease your shipping costs. Once again, PLEASE wait to check out until I can combine your purchases on ONE INVOICE and can calculate their combined shipping rate via Fed Ex. If you pay for these items separately, I get charged multiple transaction fees by PayPal plus you get over-charged on your shipping. I will attempt to find the cheapest shipping rate possible. Canadian customers will be responsible for any brokerage fees, Custom’s duties, or VAT’s imposed by your government. I am not responsible for these charges. Insurance is required for all international shipments.
