Observations in a large epidemic of dysentery in 1917, made by Dimand (Leclerc, H. Precis de phytotherapie. Paris, Masson & Cie, 1935), showed that dried and chopped roots in a concentration of 20 g per 500 g of water, boiled 2 — 3 minutes, give a decoction with a strong burning effect.

As a mouthwash, it is used to treat bleeding gums and small mouth ulcers. Poultices or compresses are used externally on wounds and bruises.

Decoctions are used to relieve diarrhea and hemorrhoids. The tannins in the herb not only tighten the tissues, but also help control light bleeding.

How to use Blackberry root

Decoction: In 500 ml of water, 20 g of roots are left to boil for 3 minutes. After straining, drink 150 ml, 3 times a day before meals.
