Medicinal primrose and its health benefits

In folk medicine, COWSLIP has long been widely used by healers in the treatment of many diseases.

Infusion of primrose roots is used as an expectorant for catarrh of the upper respiratory tract, chronic tracheitis and bronchitis, and bronchopneumonia. And even with constipation, insomnia, general weakness, poor appetite, cough, dizziness; as a diuretic in diseases of the kidneys and bladder.

Broth, tincture and syrup of COWSLIP in folk medicine are used to treat tuberculosis, bronchitis, asthma, whooping cough; as a sedative, antispasmodic, diuretic, mild laxative and pain reliever (for convulsions and paralysis).

COWSLIP juice is used to reduce bleeding gums with scurvy, paralysis, heart disease, dizziness, insomnia, to improve vision, with vitamin deficiency, to normalize digestion; flu, sore throat, bronchitis, hay fever; as diaphoretic, antipyretic and laxative.

In folk medicine, an infusion of COWSLIP rhizomes is used not only as an expectorant, but also to absorb external hemorrhages.

Externally, a decoction of COWSLIP in the form of lotions and compresses is used for bruises. The aerial part is part of the ointment for the treatment of scalp eczema.

A decoction of COWSLIP roots is recommended for lichen planus, boils, ulcers, skin rashes, psoriasis and baldness.
How to use COWSLIP root

2 tbsp. herb is brewed with 300 ml of boiling water and filtered after 15 minutes. Drink 100 ml 3 times a day.
