This lightly used pre owned Myler USA Dee ring bit with hooks features a correctional low port mouthpiece that allows room for the tongue and rotates on the tongue to apply two points of pressure. This bit is good for horses who are in advanced training but are still showing anxious or aggressive behavior. Made in the USA, this Myler bit features a Level 2-3 mouthpiece. The Kimberwick is a “D” shaped stainless steel ring with a purchase for the headstall and two attachment options for a single pair of reins: the direct (snaffle) and the indirect (curb) positions. Comes with a curb chain. Like the Pelham, the purchase creates a fixed cheek so the bit is held in the correct position. The rider can choose the direct (snaffle) position or indirect (Curb) position for rein attachment. The Indirect Rein position adds very little to mild leverage. Designed to be used with only one pair of reins. The correction mouthpiece measures a 5-1/8 inch wide with a 1-3/8 inch tall port. The dee with hooks is a stainless steel "D" shaped ring with slots ("hooks") at the top and bottom of the ring for rein attachment. The bit includes a curb strap attached with two curb hooks. Both the top and bottom rein slots on the dee will fit standard ⅝ inch wide bridle leather.
The hooks make this a much more versatile version of the dee without hooks. Attaching the reins to the rein hooks allow the rider to lift the cheek and use the Independent Side Movement™ of the mouthpiece. Using the hooks does not add leverage but allows the rider to transition from a direct rein action to indirect action without changing the bit. The included curb strap incorporates curb pressure. Curb pressure is recommended for ported mouthpieces.
An outstanding bit for all serious horsemen! Whether you show reiners, pleasure horses, all-arounders, cutters, cow horses or any western performance horse you need a quality correction bit in your collection!
