This listing is for what looks to be a very very heavy primitive early wrought iron biscuit or cookie cutter. Maybe it is a building pattern maker or tool?.   All metal.   The bottom of the shape has been thinned like a knife to cut the dough.   Hand made by blacksmith.

Undated, presumed 1700-1800s. 

Squared heart  shape measures approx 2 across top and 1.25 across bottom shape of the heart x 3.5" long x 2.5" deep. 6" tall including handle.

Updated details from an experienceer:

I believe what you may have here is a leather-working tool; the top portion would have been struck with a mallot. The narrowing of the bottom edges would enable the tool to cut through the leather.
