Composed: Talmudic Babylon, c.450 – c.550 CE
Ketubot is the second tractate in Seder Nashim (“Order of Women,” which addresses family law). Its thirteen chapters primarily discuss the ketubah (marriage contract) and obligations between a husband and wife during marriage and after the dissolution of marriage. The tractate also addresses topics such as giving testimony, vows, and slander.
The Schottenstein Edition Talmud created a revolution in Gemara study. Now, the breakthrough format is available for the Mishnah as well.
