The quilts shown here are examples of what can be created for that special little one in your life. These are one of a kind keepsakes that measure approximately 45" wide and 60" long. The top is made from 100% cotton, cotton flannel is used for the back and the batting on the inside is cotton as well. You select the color(s) you want, name, date of birth, pattern or theme to use. It's all up to you. Prices range from $150 to $200. The little boy quilt style shown with the simple fabric border is $150 while the little girl one shown with the ruffled binding is $200. Price depends on exactly what you want us to create. Email us with your idea and we'll get right back to you with a quote. We have thousands of embroidery designs to match the theme of the nursery and will send pictures of the intended designs prior to us stitching them on the quilt. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
What goes into making a quilt?
First we purchase the fabric. Once it arrives here the cut edges are serged to prevent raveling so we can wash and dry the fabric to pre-shrink it.
Once dry it must be ironed so we can cut out all the squares. Once the squares are cut they are sewn together to form the diamond pattern we use for our baby quilt.
Once all the squares are sewn together the finished dimension is measured so that binding can be cut to go around the outside edge on all 4 sides. Binding is then cut and sewn on.
Measurements are taken again so that the flannel for the back can be cut and sewn to size.
Finally the top, batting and back are put together and sewn together or bound with the ruffled binding in the case of the little girl quilt shown. Little girl quilts can be made the same way (without the ruffled binding) as the boy one shown at the same low price of $150.
Once the 3 layers are together then the quilt must be sewn to keep the 3 layers together in the proper way. You don't want the layers to shift so we use one color embroidery designs stitched through all 3 layers to accomplish this. In the example pictures we used a balloon on the little girl quilt while the little boy one has various turtles since that was the theme of that quilt.
