1870 antique DIARY FRANKLIN HULBURT hamlin oh FOLK ART SKETCHES hand deer
This listing is for the antique black leather handwritten diary which as written by Franklin Hulburt (6 Apr 1837-18 July 1904). Looks like there is handwriting on each date.
He was the son of Jesse & Matilda Hulburt and born in Clarkson, Monroe County and grew up in Hamlin which is where he was living when this diary was written. In 1873 he was married to Elizabeth Ora Thayer (1852-1937) and they had 3 children and lived in Batavia where the living descendants still reside.
1. Catherine May Hulburt (1875-) married Frank John Ritzenthaler in 1895 and had no children that I can find
2. Jessie Elma Hulbert (1879-) married Charles L Schmeidel and they had no children that I can find.
3. Irving Geroge Hulbert (1883-1957). He married Alice Catherien Ackes (1884-1963) and they had 2 children: 3-1 Frank Ackes Hulburt (1906-1970) who in 1928 married Agnes Helen Gillam (1904-1986) and they had at least 3 children starting with Joan Hulburt in 1929 3-2 Helen Elizabeth Hulburt (1908-1975) who in 1935 married William H Gillam Sr (1906-1997) and they had 3 children: 3-2.1 William H Gillam Jr (1936-living) of 54 Pearl Street, Batavia 3-2.2 Anne (1937-) 3-2.3 Irving R (Actually born in 1939 but somehow had birth year changed to 1941) of 160 Walnut Street, Batavia. So there are at least 2 great-grandchildren of the author living.
