This very nicely designed mini vase is shown in a different color in Leslie Pina's Popular '50s & '60's Glass Color Along the River, in the Pilgrim chapter, page 54, and is identified as "760 pitcher." At the beginning of the chapter the author says that Pilgrim specialized in free blown crackle glass in vivid colors from their beginning. They opened in 1956. She also says that "Pilgrim numbers refer to shapes and do not provide information for dating pieces." So this beautiful pitcher could have been made any time from 1956 to at least the 1970s. It is deep ruby red glass with a very pale yellow applied handle. The workmanship is exquisite!
It is 4 3/4 inches tall. It is 3 1/2 inches wide at the widest part. The base is 1 1/2 inches wide, and has a smoothed pontil scar which has 9-10 small bubbles trapped under it. I think this is one of the typical Pilgrim pontil scars, because I've seen the same trapped bubbles in other Pilgrim pitchers' pontils. The pitcher weighs 7.8 ounces.
