Death Of A Bullionaire Science Fiction Paperback Book by A.B. Cunningham 1947

A Sheriff Jess Roden mystery. A bullionaire are those hardy pioneers of the Southwest who had amassed their fortunes in cattle. So the death of old Clancy Devoe shook West Texas to its foundations.

He had retired to Banden and begun to live as befitted a retired bullionaire.

There he married his second love--a much younger woman, his first having died some years before. Things were great until his grown and handsome son returned home and was smitten by the new Mrs. Devoe.

Then someone shot old Clancy.
