She was a pretty little thing but too headstrong and wild--the kind of a girl who could easily ruin a young doctor's career.

“Sir, I must have permission to leave the hospital immediately," Dr. Storm Linders said in an urgent voice.

"That's too bad,” the senior surgeon replied, "because we can't do without you here. Now that you're a doctor, Linders, this hospital should be like a wife to you. You've got to love and honor the Bayard Clinic and obey the rules. The rules say you're on duty. So be it."

White faced and silent, Storm Linders stalked out of the administration office, leaving behind a kindly and worried friend. What sort of trouble is the boy in, the older man wondered.
