Lured back into Intelligence work by his interest in a charming Russian ballerina, Richard Manston finds his role swinging violently back and forth from that of pursuer to pursued, as he seeks to uncover the inner workings of a singularly grim operation.

This operation, executed with characteristic Iron Curtain efficiency, consists of kidnapping defectors, and shipping them, inert and helpless, back from England to Russia.
