Fear In A Desert Town Mystery Paperback Book by Roger Fuller Cardinal 1964

Kimble is in Bisson, Arizona, where he finds himself in the middle of domestic issues as he takes a job in a bar.

Inspector Gerard jeered softly. "East, South, Mid- west. Now the Southwest. I'm sure of it."

Captain Carpenter bit down on a half-dissolved lime ball, savored the fragments, then swallowed them and said, "How sure are you?"

"Sure enough to send five thousand WANTED circulars into the area," Gerard answered.

"Why not Mexico?" he asked Gerard. "The border is right there."

Gerard shook his head.

"Not Kimble. He's too smart for that.

In Mexico he'd be the Yankee, somebody different.

No, he has to stick with crowds of Americans.'

Gerard stuck another pin into the huge map.

"And one day I'm going to be in that crowd," he added.

"Right behind him."
