The first time Kit Carey lost his temper he almost killed a man. A few days later, after he had been forced to leave home, Kit lost his temper again. 

This time he wrecked a stagecoach after a furiously competitive race. In the ruins he found Sabra. By nightfall she had become his mistress.

Together they set out for Philadelphia where Kit went to work for his uncle. Then Sabra-who turned out to be as passionate as she was faithless- shrewdly began to play him off against his cousin Roderick. 

Kit lost his temper a third time.

Thrown out of Philadelphia, Kit became a Marine aboard the famed Constellation and went on to campaign against the privateers, taking a heroic part in the bloody sea battles against the French.

In the end, Kit Carey became a true man of his time-a hot- blooded giant who lived for fair women and spoiled for a fight, fair or otherwise.

Book is in acceptable condition. General shelf and corner wear. Cover fraying along the edges. Some white marks on front and back cover. Light staining on the interior and exterior. The spine has some issues (See photo #3). Scrape in the upper left hand corner of the front cover. Staining on the end pages. A solid reading copy.
