Locksmith Tommy Dancer (William Campbell) is hired by hood Willis Trent for a simple job and then is invited to a party at Trent's where he meets wealthy Betty. She's on the rebound from her cheating lawyer beau Farraday, but is out of Tommy's pay scale.

At least until Trent gives Tommy an offer he can't refuse, to make keys to open a safety deposit box that happens to belong to crime boss DeCamp, which is just asking for trouble.
