This was a retirement gift to my aunt who was not computer savvy.. It has sat on a closet shelf for decades.  When I first started it up to test it this year, there was nothing stored on it.  If she had ever fired it up, it was apparently only in curiosity and back when she first got it.. Laptop is like-new condition ..  It has a hiccup when booting but that may be due to the bad battery, meaning, after a DOS prompt ("real time clock error" and "press any key to continue"),  it will then boot right into Windows and run just fine.. Sound and music plays just fine, CD drive works fine, floppy and touchpad and buttons and all keys too .

Runs fine on its OEM Compaq AC adapter.. THIS PC WILL NEED A NEW BATTERY, yes the OEM battery comes with it (series 2941B p/n 347737-001 or 3888648-001, for compaq 2940/CM2000/CM2010/CM2020 family of computers)
