RARE: MERLE J. EDELMAN- SPACEMAN/ALIEN 

LUCITE SCULPTURE. SIGNED IN WORK. 1970'S. EUC.

Wow: Unique otherworldly image. In Black embedded in lucite. Signed in work in black script Edelman. 

It measures 9"x5"x 1/4" on black glossy lucite base. It is optically perfect. 

The seller states that Merle has a large oil on canvas image of this which he painted on the right side as you enter his residence.  It is on a green background.  It was one of his favorites. 

This piece was obtained from a woman who worked at Edelman Design in Canada.  An asset to any mid cent. Or art collection. Very captivating and other wordly surreal image. 

NOTE: MERLE J. EDELMAN , B.1930 was a successful Independent Artist/Designer. Attended the Cleveland Art Institute, and was a Page Scholarship winner attending Temple University's Tyler School of Art. Studied in Europe and traveled throughout the world.  Did contract work for Tiffany,  Conde Naste, Vogue, NBC, Casa Bisque, Rubel, etc, etc. Exhibited at the Cleveland Museum of Art, and at 16 the sculpture of a boy at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
