Here for your consideration is the Classic, Fisher Price Little People #991 Circus Train! This is the original 4 car version manufactured between 1973-78. This particular offering is COMPLETE and is in EXC- EXC++ condition. I've also added a couple of extra clowns to increase the open-ended play opportunities.
Composing this STUNNING play set are:
1 HTF engine w/ original string that heartily "toots" when the train whistle is pressed (EXC); while all of the lithos are intact, they present with some light soiling, and some minimal-moderate edge wear. I anticipate that the soiling will be lessened with a careful cleaning. The engine's headlight lithos presents with the most wear--especially on the corners. The engine's plastic surfaces are VIBRANT, SHINY, and free of any breaks, cracks, discolorations, or chips etc. Other than some light surface scratches, a few deeper scratches on the smokestack, some "dings," and several scuffs, this Engine is in WONDERFUL condition! The hitch is intact and totally FREE OF CHEWS. The pull string, however, does exhibit some chews);
1 VHTF green cage car door that converts to a ramp to let the animals depart (EXC++-NR MINT--the clown lithos on both ends are fully INTACT; one of the clown lithos is in NEAR MINT condition with only three, tiny, hair-line creases being visible on the litho; the other clown litho is in EXC condition with two creases on the litho along with a pin-head size puncture towards the lower left hand corner of the litho; both of the giraffe lithos are generally clean, crisp, and firmly secured to the plastic; other than a small green mark on the lower edge of the litho and a scratch on the upper right hand side of the same litho, the giraffe litho on the side opposite the cage door is in great shape (EXC++-NEAR MINT). The giraffe litho on the cage door side of the car evidences a few miniscule bubbles and the hint of an intermittent hair-line crease (NEAR MINT). None of the cage bars exhibit any stress fractures or cracks and the wheels demonstrate little, if any "road wear;"
1 HTF blue flat car (NEAR MINT--some minimal edge wear on the lower margin of both lithos; a few "dings" and scratches on the plastic surfaces along with some rust on the screws in the bed of the car; I may be able to erradicate this rust with Naval Jelly; in my opinion, the biggest flaw on this piece is that one of the wheels has experienced some moderate wear on the outside rim of the wheel);
1 HTF red caboose (EXC++--both lithos are intact with only some mild edge wear and an occasional rub; one litho shows a 1/4" green mark to the left of the monkey's head; I do not know if this will come off with a careful cleaning; some scuffing on the wheel rims and some scuffing and indentations on the bottom steps of the caboose);
1 HTF blue elephant w/toe nails!!! (EXC++-NEAR MINT-- bold facial features; ears and tail totally intact; left front leg a little loose but still holds a pose; other joints are fine; scratches and scuffs on both of elephant's ears--these are more prominent on his right ear; some light discoloration (due to age) on trunk and flanks of legs; couple of tiny rubs on white toe nails; no discoloration on elephant's body or face);
1 lion with dark brown mane and circle on belly (NEAR MINT-MINT---joints are firm; facial features are sharp and distinct; tail 100% intact and free of chews);
1 VHTF monkey with tail (NEAR MINT--minimal, if any, edge wear to feet; facial features are robust; possesses complete tail with NO CHEWS! Left arm joint is a little loose but all the others are firm; tail is free of any chews);
1 VHTF gray bear (NEAR MINT---INCREDIBLE facial features; tiny rub on nose; firm joints throughout; perimeter of oval on tummy is intact; NO CHEWS ANYWHERE! Rest of this bear is PERFECT!);
1 RARE light tan giraffe with brown spots (EXC++-NEAR MINT--few minor rubs to brown spots right rear flank; both horns have retained their ball tips: the tail is totally intact and devoid of any chews; I can't tell for sure but someone may have "touched up" the giraffe's hooves);
1 VHTF short, WOOD/PLASTIC blue engineer w/ cap (VG-VG+--some dulling of paint on body due to age; chews on underneath side of cap's brim; scuffs and abrasions (probably due to some child's teeth) on top of brim and on crown of hat; nibbles on ends of orange scarf);
1 VHTF short, ALL PLASTIC red clown w/yellow pointed hat (MINTY MINT; NOTE: the original Fisher Price specifications called for a WOOD/plastic red clown; I didn't have one of these so I substituted the ALL PLASTIC red clown in its stead); and
1 VHTF short, WOOD/PLASTIC ringmaster w/moustache and top hat (MINTY MINT).
In addition, I have inserted two BONUS clowns:
1 HTF green bodied clown with blue top hat (VG++--roughness around perimeter of hat's brim and on one side of hat's crown) and
1 HTF orange bodied clown with black cowboy hat (NEAR MINT-MINT--one teensy indentation on edge of hat brim. I don't think this is a chew).
THIS set is AWESOME!! I hand picked the best animals, clowns, train cars etc. I could find from all across the U.S. and Canada to compose this play set.
I've tried to be as thorough and honest about this set as I can. I'd rather be "nit-picky" than have someone disappointed in what they were purchasing.
I WILL BE THOROUGHLY Q-TIP CLEANING THIS PLAY SET AND ALL OF ITS ACCESSORIES PRIOR TO SENDING IT TO ITS NEW OWNER. I SPEND A MINIMUM OF 1 - 1 1/2 HOURS CLEANING EACH AND EVERY VINTAGE PLAY SET THAT I SELL. I use a variety of cleaning products (e.g. Goo Gone, Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser, Dawn, Crayon Away, Soft Scrub, Armor All wipes, etc.) MY SETS ARE IMMACULATE!
THIS PLAY SET IS NOT PART OF THE RECENT FISHER PRICE RECALL FOR TOYS MANUFACTURED IN CHINA. THIS VINTAGE TOY WAS PRODUCED IN THE GOOD OLD U.S.A. WHY GIVE A TOY THAT MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE EXCESS LEVELS OF LEAD OR OTHER UNDISCLOSED SUBSTANCES WHEN YOU CAN GIVE A CLASSIC TOY LIKE THIS TO A CHILD?
DUE TO SOME SMALL PARTS, THIS PLAYSET SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN TO CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS OF AGE OR TO THOSE CHILDREN WHO ARE STILL MOUTHING THEIR TOYS. ADULT SUPERVISION IS SUGGESTED UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES.

I’ve been finding Fed Ex has been running @33% cheaper than the USPS (including Parcel Post) and UPS Ground. FYI, another benefit of using either Fed Ex or UPS is that their quote includes up to $100 worth of FREE insurance. Additional amounts of insurance may be purchased for a nominal fee (that is much less than the USPS). Fed Ex also provides automated tracking updates re: your parcel’s whereabouts directly to your personal e-mail account.
In order to ship Fed Ex (or UPS for that matter), I MUST have a residential or work place address, NOT a P.O. Box number, as well as a home or cell phone. Otherwise, they will not accept the shipping paperwork or transport your item.

Packages traveling to Alaska or Hawaii will be shipped Parcel Post via the USPS. Insurance and delivery confirmation are required.
