Basically this allows you to swing the ball on a retractable string that lets you throw the ball further. Once thrown the string retracts into the ball and the dog can retrieve it. I would recommend this for medium bread dogs but the manufacturer says it can be used with all dogs. The ball is about the size of a racket ball. Measures 8" around.
