Gorgeous pair of Buddhist statues! Depicted here is the figure of Guanyin, the goddess of mercy who is said chose to stay on earth to help others reach enlightenment. Here she stands next to a wise man scholar.
- These 14" statues appear to be crafted in 1971 based on the markings at the base of each statue.
- The artist is only known by the name or initials MAG as carved on the bottom of each statue.
- They are of unknown provenance.
- The goddess appears to have been dropped and repaired upon close inspection due to the crack and at one part, visible glue, at her neck. Nonetheless, both statues are beautiful and would make wonderful decor in you home.
- Scholar has small chip on the top of his headwear.
