This is a very fine sterling silver and crystal center piece. It is large at 12 X 8 X 4 inches at the highest point. The silver is repoussed with numerous dancing putties and the crystal is carved on matte base. The bottom is clear. It bears the French Minerve 1st standard silver mark (.950), which is higher than sterling silver and the maker's mark for Regina BENVENISTI, who traded at 8 rue Martel, Paris, from October 1893 (the word 'Ascanio' and her initials below). This is equivalent to American Art Nouveau era when each made extraordinary fine art facts that had influenced artists and craftsmen over a century. I have not located any marks on the crystal, but it has the appearance of Lalique. It is in amazing great shape that I have not noticed any splits, denting, chips or cracks.
