Padre Pio de Pietrelcina Art Print

St. Padre Pio is one of the greatest Saints of the Twentieth Century. He was associated with many miracles in his life. Among them was warding off Allied bombers away from his village during World War II, as reported by the pilots of those bombers. St. Pope John Paul II asked him to pray for a friend, sick unto death, who then recovered. Many, many other stories tell of this amazing man’s holiness and devotion to God. If you don't know much about this man, we deeply encourage you to read about him, or watch the movies based on his life. He is astonishing, and a great counterpoint to those who think the age of miracles has passed. This drawing was done in 1966 by Roberto Dughetti (1938—2006), a Florentine artist. It was donated to the commons (taken out of copyright) by his daughter, Lucia Dughetti. We spent hours cleaning up and restoring this print, eliminating a lot of discolorations and age marks and making other refinements. We like this drawing because it shows a lot of the Saint’s personality. He looks friendly yet intense. To see his face reminds us, at least me, of the presence of God in our lives.Printed on acid-free, fine art paper, using archival quality pigments, to last for generations when not hung in the direct sun.
