Short description
It is prescribed for adults with corneal dystrophies, senile, traumatic, radiation and other types of cataracts, as well as with corneal injuries (as a stimulator of reparative processes). For cataracts, it is prescribed in the form of instillations, 1-2 caps 2-4 times a day for 3 month The course is repeated at monthly intervals. For injuries and dystrophic diseases of the cornea, it is used in the same doses for 1 month. For open-angle glaucoma (in combination with timolol) - 2 times a day, 20-30 minutes before the appointment of timolol.
pharmachologic effect
A sulfur-containing amino acid produced in the body during the conversion of cysteine. Promotes the improvement of energy processes. Stimulates reparative and regenerative processes in diseases of a dystrophic nature and / or diseases accompanied by a sharp disruption of the metabolism of ocular tissues. Promotes the normalization of the functions of cell membranes, activation of energy metabolic processes.
Indications
For oral administration: cardiovascular insufficiency of various etiologies, intoxication with cardiac glycosides, type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus. For parenteral use: as part of combined drugs, cardiovascular insufficiency (of various etiologies), intoxication with cardiac glycosides. For use in ophthalmology: degenerative lesions of the retina, incl. hereditary tapetoretinal abiotrophies, corneal dystrophy, cataracts (senile, diabetic, traumatic, radiation), as well as corneal trauma (as a stimulator of reparative processes).

Possibly: allergic reactions.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to taurine.

There is evidence of the effectiveness of taurine as a means of lowering intraocular pressure in patients with glaucoma.
