RARE 19th Century Doulton Lambeth Emin Pasha commemorative pitcher or jug. Antique salt glazed stoneware in a two tone beige & dark brown finish. Featuring Henry Morgan Stanley on the front, leader of the Relief Expedition 1887-1889. Marked underneath with an impressed Doulton Lambeth stamp c.1880-1902 along with 2 artists initials and numbered 1986. Unique gift for any pottery, stoneware or historical collector.

Expected signs of wear from age & use, no chips or cracks, excellent condition. This measures 8" tall by 5 1/2" wide, 7" wide from handle to front and weighs approx 4 lbs packaged.

All 3 sides have ornate raised decorative symbols, names of the expedition members & words. Front reads "OUT OF DARKNESS INTO LIGHT". One side reads: ENTERPRISE, E. M. BARTTELOT, W. BONNY, A. .J. MOUNTENEY-JEPHSON and on the other side: VALOUR, W. G. STAIRS, R. H. NELSON, T. H. PARKE.
