All kinds of products are using charcoal in their products from masks to cleansers, and I like trying new and innovative products, I bought it. At first I was a bit worried, like some of you probably are, that there would be a gritty or charcoal taste to it. I couldn't have been more wrong! This stuff is a smooth as any 'regular' toothpaste and has a great taste. It looks odd since it comes out of the tube black, but the foam changes to a whitish color w/ brushing.
