Belonging to my neighbor's mother, this ANTIQUE, Marked "Silver Plate Seneca Pattern Child’s Sherbet Ice Cream Soft-Boiled Eggs Sugar Condiment Spoon" was made by Oneida for use in Hotels in 1927. My neighbor’s mother passed away in 1982 and she received a box full of assorted pins, rings, jewelry, silverware, vanity items and other small odds-and-ends as part of her inheritance which she has kept stored in her closet, including this Silver Plate Hotel Spoon which was originally designed for eating Sherbet or Ice Cream. Getting ready to move to a smaller home, she has NO children and has asked me to sell this for her; it comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. With age appropriate wear and no damage, the bowl has a diameter of approximately 1 inch - See Pictures. Standing approximately 5 1/8ths inches tall, it is Marked “Oneida Hotel Plate". Masterfully crafted with EXQUISITELY SIMPLE detailing that is HANDSOMELY BOLD, this Ice Cream/Sherbet Spoon is sure to impress. A high quality, finely crafted Silver Plate Spoon, it features the Seneca Pattern. With a WARM, Age Appropriate Patina, it can easily be polished to a bright shine. |
