MURDER INC.:
A Novel

by James Eastwood

(Luton, Great Britain): Top Line Books, [circa 1951].

First edition.

Printed by Dragon Press.

A novelization of the 1951 Raoul Walsh and Bretaigne Windust directed noir film starring Humphrey Bogart, Zero Mostel and Ted de Corsia, titled 'The Enforcer' in the U.S. release and 'Murder Inc.' in the British release.

Based on the true account journals and book by prosecuting attorney Burton Turkus, describing the actions and ends of organized gangsters in Brooklyn in the 1930s.

Not to be confused with another film based on Turkus's book that was produced later, in 1960 starring Stuart Whitman.

Former owner's name to the inside front cover and to the top edge of chapter one, light tanning to the pages, upper corner tips minutely bumped, else near fine in brick-hued linen-boards with gilt embossed titles to the spine; in an about near fine dust jacket with a small sticker-scar abrasion to the upper front panel, a trace fading to the spine panel, and minuscule nicks to the upper spine edge and upper corner tips; original printed 8s 6d. net price still intact to the front inner flap.

Great scarce film collectible.
