it is solid opal - not triplet not doublet! solid and natural! It is natural Australian solid semi black translucent opal.

it is approx size 6.5 and approx 8g. (please see last photos).

face of the ring approx 24x16.3mm, the opal is large approx 18x10mm. marked 14 solid gold. usually these opals are thin slices but this one is thick approx 4-5 mm! which is rare. large well built ring - Victorian influence made after 1920s.
