Hakonechloa macra 'all gold' Japanese Forest Grass (shown in second photo.) Luminous, metallic gold foliage, without the green stripes of ‘aureola’. It literally glows in a lightly shaded garden. Golden foliage is slightly more upright than 'aureola'.

Ships fully rooted in 2 1/4" clumps.

Dense shade can cause the gold foliage to fade to lime green. And, in full sun foliage will be mostly golden. Use this slow growing, deciduous ornamental grass along pathways or waterways, rock gardens and plant in mass under trees and shrubs.

Hakonechloa grows to 12-18 inches tall and 18-36 inches wide in USDA zones 5-9. Best grown in moist, well-drained soils in part shade.
