WHAT IS NEOXID?

NEOXID is a supplement which supplies the daily requirement of vitamins A, C, and E, as well as of the microelement selenium, which, in combination with wheat germ extract, constitutes a powerful antioxidant mix for maximum protection against free radicals.

Each tablet of NEOXID contains:

• Dry wheat germ extract, 125 mg
• Vitamin C, 100 mg
• Vitamin E, 20 mg α-ТЕ
• β-Carotene, 6 mg
• Selenium, 50 μg

Neoxid is a dietary supplement.

Superoxide dismutase (SOD)

SOD is a powerful antioxidant which protects cells against the toxic action of oxygen once it has become a free radical (the so-called superoxide radical). SOD can be found in all essential body tissues, but it is particularly important in the lung and skin cells. As we age, our bodies produce less superoxide dismutase, which is largely associated with the aging process.

Catalase

Catalase is another important enzyme found in the blood, bone marrow, liver, and kidney cells, as well as in the mucosa. It neutralises free radicals formed in these organs and tissues as a result of their natural functions.

2. VITAMINS

Vitamin Е

Vitamin E is the most common lipid-soluble antioxidant in the human body. It is also one of the most effective antioxidants, as it breaks the chain reaction of free radicals in all tissues containing lipids, as well as in the plasma membrane. Vitamin E plays a key role in the normal functioning of a number of hormones, enzymes, and lipids, as well as of the erythrocyte (red blood cell) membrane, respiratory tract epithelium, and skin.

Vitamin С

Vitamin C is the most common water-soluble antioxidant in the human body. It functions mostly at a cellular level. It is of paramount importance in neutralising free radicals from cigarette smoke and environmental pollution.

Provitamin А (βCarotene)

Provitamin A is lipid-soluble antioxidant which complements the antioxidant activity of vitamin E. A part of provitamin A transforms into vitamin A (retinol), which has no antioxidant activity, but plays a key role in a number of vital processes. Vitamin A has been proven to play a role in the formation of eye pigments and in the growth of epithelial cells, bones, and cells of the reproductive organs. It increases the body’s resistance to cold and other detrimental influences of the environment.

 

3. MICROELEMENTS

Selenium

Selenium belongs to the group of microelements in the human body. It is a component of one of the enzymic systems that neutralises free radicals that damage lipidic structures in tissues. Selenium and vitamin E boost each other’s antioxidant activity. Selenium plays an important role in the normal functioning of the pancreas, which is necessary for the absorption of vitamin E. Vitamin E, in turn, reduces the selenium losses in the body and maintains it in its active form.

 

Wheat germ

Wheat germ is the richest natural source of antioxidants, as well as of many other enzymes, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. Its antioxidant activity depends on the high amount of SOD and catalase it contains.

SIDE EFFECTS

Since all active ingredients of NEOXID exist naturally in the human body, side effects only occur if overdosed. The clinical manifestations of overdosing are mostly associated with the lipid-soluble vitamin E and β-Carotene, and very rarely with the microelement selenium.

Overdosing of β-Carotene results in a yellow discoloration of the skin (on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet, but not the sclera), loss of appetite, and swelling.

Overdosing of vitamin E is a risk factor for pregnancy and can seriously damage the foetus and newborn baby

Overdosing of selenium causes hair loss, nail damage, and polyneuritis.

In very rare cases, intolerance to the active ingredients or excipients of the tablet may occur. If you experience a rash, itching, swelling of the lips and face, or shortness of breath after taking NEOXID, stop taking it and consult your doctor.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypervitaminosis A and Hypervitaminosis E.

 

STORAGE

Keep NEOXID in its original packaging at a temperature of up to 25°С and out of the reach of children. Do not use the product after its expiry date or if the integrity of the packaging is compromised.
