Antique Black and White Photograph, circa 1920s. Depicting two workers in white aprons, who appear to be father and son, outside the Cloverdale Co. Grocery Store. Photo by H.R. McGregor of Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Measures approximately 7 x 5. Condition: This is an original photograph, not a copy or reproduction. It is in excellent condition. Comments: We were able to positively locate the existence of the Cloverdale Co. in Portland, Maine in a Maine Agricultural report dated 1926. The Cloverdale Co. grocery store was also advertised in the Rockland-Courier Gazette in 1928, and in the Biddeford Daily Journal in 1928. The store was also mentioned in a Newcastle, Maine annual town report from 1933 as having made purchases. Whether the company had multiple locations, or merely advertised in various coastal maine newspapers is thus far undetermined. Note that our third image depicts the ad in the Rockland-Courier Gazette. It is shown for informational purposes and is not included with the purchase of this photo.
