Red Japanese Maple Seeds - Deciduous Tree
(Acer palmatum 'Atropurpureum')
* Common Names = Palmate Maple / Japanese Maple / Smooth Japanese Maple
* 'Atropurpureum' cultivar is known as Red Japanese Maple.
* Native to Japan, China, Korea, Mongolia, and southeast Russia.
* Rounded canopy with low branches, desired for its attractive form and spectacular colors.
* Typically multi-trunked with large, purplish-red leaves.
* Suited for an ornamental bonsai specimen or as a lovely, sun-dappled shade tree.
* May grow near patios or walkways, since the roots are not invasive and stay compact.
* Tree trunks may be tapped to collect the sugary sap for making maple syrup.
