This is a vintage, 1943 edition of Taps for Private Tussie by Jesse Stuart, Illustrated by Thomas Benton. The dust jacket references that the book was the winner of the 1943 Jefferson Award so I assume it is a later printing. The classic comedy novel follows the antics of a hill-billy clan moving into a mansion after the unfortunate demise of Private Tussie and the subsequent receipt of insurance money. The 80 year old book is in good condition, with the pages, cover and spine tightly bound. The dust jacket is worn with multiple tears. There is some yellowing on the interior cover but is in nice shape for its age.
