This is a vintage, 1947 book club edition book, "Proud Destiny" by Lion Feuchtwanger, published by Viking Press.  The antiquarian novel reimagines historic events, following the stories of several American and French historical figures in their fights for democracy.  The vintage book is in great shape with cover, spine and pages clean and tightly bound.  The original dust jacket is in fair condition, showing a lot of shelf wear, especially around edges and corners.  (See photos)
