300 Hairy Beardtongue Seeds Native Wildflower Sun Shade Garden Patio Container.
Hairy Beardtongue Penstemon. A low growing (1-2') perennial with foxglove like flowers and the durability and life span of a penstemon. Easy to grow from seed. Does well in sun/shade gardens or containers. Grows to 12-24" tall and about 12" wide. Makes a great low-maintenance border. Blooms May, June, July. Blooms are white, pink to violate, and make great cut flowers. The flowers also attract hummingbirds and bees with long tongues, such as honeybees, bumblebees, mason bees and miner bees. This plant is native to woodland clearings and is very adaptable to different light conditions. Full sun to all shade. Does best with medium to light water. Not real picky about soil.
Some American Native Wildflower seeds need to go through a cold winter to germinate. This plant is one of them. They do this so the seed won’t sprout in fall, only to have the seedling not make it through a cold winter. I have stratified these seeds to simulate a cold winter(stratification) This raises the germination rate considerably.
