Serrano chili peppers (Capsicum annuum) are medium hot peppers that sit somewhere in the 10,000 to 25,000 Scoville unit range, slightly hotter than a Jalapeno. This annual will produce 2"-3" peppers that will ripen from green to red. These crisp distinct peppers tend to have more kick when they are smaller so beware. Popular ingredient in salsa and pico de gallo. Serrano peppers are the second most used pepper in Mexican cuisine
