The original author of the SUNDANCE series was BEN HAAS, who wrote the books under the pseudonym of JOHN BENTEEN. When Haas died in 1977, the series was turned over to PETER McCURTIN, who was one of the staff editors at Leisure Books. McCurtin wrote several (but not all) of the remaining books in the SUNDANCE series; but those which he didn't write were assigned to other contract authors, and there is no "firm" evidence that the PETER McCURTIN himself actually wrote APACHE WAR
The list of other SUNDANCE titles on the page facing the copyright page only extends to #33 HANGMAN'S KNOT, with the announcement that "APACHE WAR is #34 in the SUNDANCE SERIES" -- so to me that would indicate that this edition is the first Leisure printing of APACHE WAR.
