When I test printers, I plug them in and let them go through the self test. That is the extent of the test.

I generally sell printers, faxes, and scanners as untested because I don't have the software or ink to properly test the items. I sell them as non working but they almost always perform fine with the correct equipment.  I will note any noticeable flaws.

I purchased this item from a local government facility.  

Item: HP CP1700 Printer.  This item powers on and goes through the self test.  Please see that this appears to be missing the paper tray on the bottom.  The "Attention" light illuminates and says that all cartridges are expired.
