Vinyl plays with occasional crackles (play-graded). Cover looks great; a few creases near edges, scuffing, and faint surface impressions (front/back); discoloration spots, especially on back. Inner-sleeve is plastic. Clear tape covering significant split and wear along spine. Noticeable wear along-bottom edge; top-edge fully split with wear. Heavy wear to corners. Opening is crisp with signs of use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
A Tribute to Glenn Miller, was recorded in Hollywood by members of the Glenn Miller Orchestra. The original band featured the famous "Miller Sound" and became a favorite of the nation. Until 1942, Miller was considered the most popular dance band leader ever known. In 1942, Miller joined the U.S. Army as a captain and lead the 418th Army Air Forces Band. Unfortunately, on Christmas Day in 1944, the news stated that his plane is considered missing with no traces found. In this album are many of the tunes that were so close to the Glenn Miller Band. The arrangements and the melodies that hundreds of thousands listened and danced to, like Chattanooga Choo Choo and Sunrise Serenade, are featured.
