This Minnesota College Yearbook has pictures of three famous athletes, Bud Grant, Leo Nomelini, Verne Gagne during their college athletic careers. Bud Grant was elected to the NFL Hall of Fame in 1994 and coached the Minnesota Vikings. He also coached the Winnepeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League for 10 seasons. He was also inducted into the Canadian Hall of Fame in 1983. In college, he played football, baseball and basketball. He played with the Minneapolis Lakers for two seasons in the NBA and also played with the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL and Winnepeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League. Verne Gagne was a star college and professional wrestler in college. He was the NCAA Heavyweight Wrestling Champion for 2 years and was All Conference in football. He was drafted in the NFL by the Chicago Bears. In professional wrestling he was the AWA World Heavyweight Champion 10 times. He is in the WWE Wrestling Hall of Fame, WCW Hall of Fame,Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame and Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame. Leo Nomelini was a two time All American Football Player in college as a tackle. He was San Francisco 49er's first ever draft choice in 1950. He played 14 seasons for the 49er's, 266 Pro games, played in every game. He was All Pro Offensive and Defensive tackle. He was on the NFL All Time Team as a defensive tackle.
