Vinyl plays with crackles; WARP causes a few skips near the beginning of both sides (play-graded). 12" Single. Generic Sugar Hill cover looks good, a few creases near edges; scuffing, faint surface impressions, discoloration (front/back). Inner-sleeve is original (generic white), with tear near center and discoloration spots. Spine is mostly easy-to-read, slightly bent near bottom, with wear. Shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge; heavier wear to corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
We Don't Work For Free, by Grandmaster Melle Mel and The Furious Five, was a single from the self-titled album. Grandmaster Melle Mel and the Furious Five was released in 1984 by Sugarhill Records after the split between Grandmaster Flash and Melle Mel. For this album, Melle Mel kept the group name 'the Furious Five' (although the line-up changed) and used the title "Grandmaster." Mel may have been the first rapper to call himself MC (master of ceremonies).
