Fancy Gail Hought Vogt Sterling Silver Latigo and One Ear Show Headstall
Hought fancy headstalls are made from the finest quality materials and craftsmanship. Gail prides herself in never cutting corners in any area of design or workmanship. She uses three basic descriptions to describe he headstalls, working, fancy, and collector sets.
This sliding ear headstall, featuring her fancy braiding in dark red latigo and black, was braided by Gail Hought and the red latigo leather headstall was made by Eric Hought. The headstall carries the Hought maker's trademark on both ends of the doubled and sewn crown. The detailed braiding features her trademark knots in black, and red latigo lacing. The headstall includes two vintage sterling silver three piece buckle sets and two dome conchos at the bit ends made by Fleming Silver of California. This collector's headstall is offered in well maintained lightly used vintage pre-owned condition with minimal signs of wear on the inside of headstall. This particular headstall would make a fancy hanger to pair with your favorite bosal and mecate since it measures 1/2 inch wide and would be the perfect accessory for a delicate two or three year old futurity horse's head.
Gail's headstalls are used in the show arena, used daily, and many times end up on the wall in the living room. The current price of a similar headstall from Gail Hought is $2,700 and up depending on silver and the design of the braided knots.
