Since 1990, I have enjoyed collecting and restoring antique radios and vintage audio.... all items I list will be exactly as described and packed extra well to ensure a safe delivery... buy with confidence ! For sale is a pair of original/OEM JBL 035TI TWEETERS removed from a 1987 set of JBL L20T speakers. Both are blown and NOT working, so selling them for parts or repair. Good project tweeters for audio techs who know how to repair/rebuild these. There's several online discussions about how critical it is to not just replace the titanium diaphragms but also the foam "damper pads" under the domes which have likely dry-rotted. One tweeter's metal mesh screen, that protects the dome, has a small area that is partially pressed in, but it can probably be reshaped to be more rounded. Bother tweeters have their thin rubber rings/gaskets that help hold the mesh screens in place. I will include those, and the 8 original screws... neither are pictured. Faceplate diameter is 5". Not sure if these are classed as 1" size domes or possibly a tad larger, but I input 1" in the details. Wire terminal posts are on opposite ends of magnet. When I removed these, the thin paper rear gaskets used for installing came apart in about 3 pieces per tweeter. I will include them for the buyer to use as they see fit, along with the original 8 installation screws. In preparation to try and repair these I bought a pair of new replacement diaphragms off. If buyer would like them, I will include them as a FREE BONUS (not officially part of this listing). As already mentioned, new foam "dampening pads" should be installed before installing the new diaphragms. New replacement kits can be found . BUYER is responsible for doing their own research to ensure they are buying the correct tweeter/part for their speakers or DIY project. NO ORDER CANCELLATIONS or RETURNS due to buying the wrong, or incompatible type/part ! DO NOT BUY this unless you understand this is a committed purchase ! Ask any and all questions BEFORE buying! Will be shipped FedEx Ground, insured. After buyer has left positive feedback to acknowledge everything OK, I will immediately return the favor. |
